Well, good evening gentlemen is the normal greeting that Walt from Kansas City uses when calling into Free Talk Live. The greeting is used by other callers as well, including Triddle who always starts his calls like that in tribute to Walt. Given that Walt and Triddle rarely call in about especially happy topics, the greeting serves as a way to start negative topics with a positive light, as well as thanking Ian for the opportunity to speak their mind.

It is also a strange saying for Triddle, because he is on the west coast and sometimes is calling in the late afternoon. Plus Ian is not a gentleman. Neither is Julia.
