Links/Blog categories

Hello, I think the Links and Blogs categories are being abused at the moment. Category descriptions should have details on what the category is for, not actual content. I'm going to move the content into other pages and categorize them, then remove the those two categories since they don't have any articles in them (the real purpose of a category). If you think this action should be undone, let me know on my talk page. Triddle 16:00, 3 February 2006 (Eastern Standard Time)

Was anything abused? Listeners should be free to advertise their blogs in a listener's blog section, I want to see other listener's blogs, and I want people to share the max numb or links.. This could be a cool page, I haven't seen any wrongdoing, can you link me to it?

As I understand it, it's not a case of abuse at all, just a wiki structure thing. Categories are meant to be for a bunch of related wiki pages. If, for example, we had a wiki page about each blog, then a "Blogs" category would be appropriate. However, if we just have a bunch of links to various blogs, a category doesn't make any sense, as it would have 0 pages in it. A "Blogs" page makes much more sense. -- Rabidfurby 18:34, 3 February 2006 (Eastern Standard Time)

you're right, what I wanted was for people to link to their own blog on the Blogs page, Blogs shouldn't be a category at least I think --CorrosionX 18:36, 3 February 2006 (Eastern Standard Time)
I agree with you Rabid, however, that is how I set it up now, not the way that it was. The category pages had content in them, that is not the use of a category. A page full of links to blogs is good, a category created just to be a page about blogs is not, as it creates an empty category that won't have any articles in it. We are certainly not going to have a page for every single blog, are we? If so, then it would make sense to have a specific blog category. Otherwise, it makes much more sense to put the blog links into an article and categorize that article. Triddle 19:34, 3 February 2006 (Eastern Standard Time)
