From Free Talk Live
freeAgent is a long-time listener of the podcast, AMPlifier, and regular on the BBS. He falls squarely into the minarchist camp and is a fan of the late Milton Friedman and the Chicago School of Economics. He uses Friedman's picture as his avatar on the BBS.
freeAgent is currently studying Economics at the University of Chicago, and looks forward to moving on to business or law school in the future. He also writes occasionally for the technology news website RealTechNews and is active on Digg. He can also be found occasionally in the FTL IRC chat when he gets bored.
Outside of Free Talk Live, freeAgent's interests include music, tennis, skiing, and technology/gaming. He has been a member of many choral groups throughout his life and appreciates a broad range of music. His favorite genres of music are pop/alternative/rock and trance. If you're interested in hearing more about freeAgent's musical tastes, feel free to private message his account on the BBS.
freeAgent first discovered libertarianism through Milton Friedman's book, Free to Choose (you can find the television series online for free here or purchase the DVD set here) which he read in High School for his AP English Literature and AP US Government combined class. He has gone on to read many pro-liberty books, and actually took a course from Adam Smith in which the first book he read was Wealth of Nations. freeAgent is a subscriber to Reason Magazine and follows the Cato Institute, The Becker-Posner Blog, TCSDaily, EconLog, and Lew Rockwell closely. He also reads a number of non-libertarian publications such as The Economist, Fortune Magazine, and The Washington Post. For technology news, he turns primarily to Digg, Slashdot, Ars Technica, CNet, the Inquirer, The Register, and ZDNet as well as the DL.TV, Diggnation, and TWiT podcasts.
freeAgent also donates to The Institute for Justice and The Friedman Foundation and shops from Laissez Faire Books whenever he can.
