Protectionism

Protectionism is when the government through use of force imposes restrictions upon trade between one country and another. Protectionism is a form of interventionism and is as such bad for the economy. Protectionism is also an infringement on property rights: government should not be able to draw an arbitrary line and say that one is allowed to trade with the individuals on one of the sides of the line, but not those on the other. Libertarians want to abolish all protectionism.
