An affirmation of truth. The content of a swearing. In commerce, must be backed by a bond. An oath has no relavence if there is no consequence for breaking it. An oath can only be made by a living man or woman. An oath is necessary in commerce so that an affidavit can become fact. That allows a living man or woman to enter facts into the legal fiction of commerce. To violate an oath is perjury. Perjury is fatal in the legal fiction meaning of the word.
