The North American union (NAU) is a common term for the overarching concepts of increased cooperation between the nations of Canada, the United States, and Mexico, similar to the European Union. The term appears to come from the Independent Task Force on North America which published a report titled Building a North American Community.
The Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America (SPP) is commonly referred to interchangeably with the NAU.
