Criticism

One primary critique of this concept is the issue of the origin of rights.

If rights come from God (as stated in the Lockean sense), or are somehow supernatural or divine in nature, then how can this be proven? No major world religion (whether the Abrahamic or Dharmic faiths) acknowledges the existence of natural rights. Ultimately, there IS no evidence that rights stem from a divine source or are "inalienable" in nature.

In regards to the origin of rights, some believe that rights are a social construct, meaning they are a creation of human society and effort and not natural or supernatural in source.
