A free market barrier is any legislation which keeps the market from being a free market. Examples include trade barriers, price caps, and trade licensing.

Here is a list of topics I hope to eventually get around to adding. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Price caps
  • Minimum wage
  • Trade licensing
  • Trade barriers
  • Tariffs
  • Restrictive quotas
  • Anti-dumping measures
  • Excise taxes
  • Copyright
  • Bankruptcy
  • U.S. Postal Service (as an example of an industry where competition is illegal)
  • Prohibition (for example, illegal to sell prohibited drugs)
  • Subsidies
  • Barrier to entry (this is more of a general term for Trade Licensing, but also includes legitimate costs such as cost of storefront, cost of producst, etc.)
