Erethizonism

The Erethizon Movement is an international political movement that supports a homeland for believers in individual liberty in the land of North America. Arising in the early 21st century, the movement is currently establishing New Hampshire as the world's first and only modern Free State. It exists primarily as support for the Erethizonists in New Hampshire, and as that state's status as a homeland for the libertarian people.

The word "Erethizonism" itself derived from the word "erethizon" the Greek word for irritant. It refers to the fundamental belief of all Erethizonists that while the initiation of violence to achieve political ends is never justified, self-defense is a natural right that never requires reference to any man-made law. Erethizonists are known informally as Porcupines, because of the irritating nature of that animal's defensive spiny quills.
