Anarcho-capitalism, sometimes shortened to Ancap is a type of market anarchism which supports absolute property rights, to the extent that no government or system of involuntary law can legitimately control one's property.

Such a position arises from a logical extension of the ideal of self-ownership and the non-aggression principle. If violence/the initiation of force is wrong for all, then this logically includes members of a government. The resulting position is a stateless society, in which all human interactions are free from the initiation of force or fraud.

Private law might be supplied by dispute resolution organizations, private courts or voluntary government to the extent that it is demanded.

Anarcho-capitalism is the 'system' preferred by individuals with the philosophy of Voluntaryism. Famous anarcho-capitalists include Murray N. Rothbard, Hans-Hermann Hoppe, David D. Friedman, Stefan Molyneux and Lew Rockwell.
