Alcohol is a form if drug that is currently not banned in the US (although under 21s are banned). In the 1920s US citizens were completely restricted from drinking alcohol, due to the "government knows best" attitude taken by the government. This attitude is still present today, this results on unjust laws like Drug Prohibition.
