Alaska is a very big and very cold territory bordering Canadaian Yukon and the Pacific and Arctic Oceans. It was purchased from Russia in 1867, and became a U.S. state in 1959.
The Free State Project members may find interest in the potential secession movement centered around the Alaskan Independence Party.
