Abortion
From Free Talk Live
Abortion can be a difficult issue for libertarians. Although most libertarians support the right to abortion, others consider it murder. Some libertarians take a utilitarian approach, personally opposing abortion, but acknowledging that banning a behavior does not necessarily stop it. What makes one "libertarian" on the issue of abortion is not their particular view but the fact that they argue from the standpoint of individual rights. In this sense, libertarianism is distinct from conservatism and liberalism in that it is concerned with reasoning rather than partisan litmus tests.
